Body Manipulation

Photobucket

These images were meant to portray the 'ideal' beauty. These images had the normal retouching on the skin and in addition I lengthened the torso and the neck to create a more aesthetically pleasing and elongated form. I also minimized the stomach and thighs as well as making the ears closer to the head. Overall, making her picture perfect.

This image I did the same type of treatment of elongating the torso and neck, as well as all the standard retouching by minimizing the stomach and thighs.

Fashion Retouching

Recently I have been doing retouching for La Femme a fashion line of beautiful boutique style dresses. The main work that I have done for this client is truly to make their dresses look fabulous and by making the girls become picture perfect. As you can see in the picture above, I lengthened the dress as well as minimizing the middle section and removing the bow. These type of details can be very difficult when dealing with patterns and object, that makes my work quite challenging and fun.

Most of the work involved in fixing the dresses included extending dresses so they hit floor length, smoothing out wrinkles, making the dresses fit the models perfectly.

Some of the images, I used multiple images to create an overall more pleasing view, in this case you can more easily see the beautiful print of the dress.

All the models received a basic slimming or shaping creating beautiful and flowing lines.

I also worked on each of the models skin and hair to create the ideal woman.

La Femme makes absolutely amazing dresses and they have been great to work with. I have really learned a lot about working with dresses and retouching to create the ideal statuesque woman.

Body Manipulation and Retouching

These images are to show works where I have digitally manipulated and liquefied the body shape. The first image I retouched I started with the standard routine: removing bags, moles, and other imperfections. Then I liquefied the side of her body to have a more pleasing and smooth shape. I also minimized the thighs and the folds and creases in the bathing suit to appear slimmer and less distracting. Please Click on the before and after image to see the detail. Since body manipulation can be subtle I am including animated gifs to show a more dramatic before and after.

For this image I also did subtle, but yet important body manipulation. To create the perfect 'hourglass' figure I liquefied her body into a more pleasing and 'ideal' shape. I minimized the thighs. I also smoothed out the contour of the back and waistline. To make the image truly symmetrical I also shifted the left arm to appear at the exact same height. Overall these small things make a big impact visually.

This image I did the standard retouching with the skin and bags under the eyes. I then liquefied and smoothed out the back line so it appeared smaller and minimized or removed folds in the skin. I also smoothed out and lifted the breasts slightly to create a more youthful and 'ideal' look.

This last image is a close up of the model from the previous pictures. This shows extensive retouching and smoothing work on her skin. Since this image is a 'beauty' shot it is supposed to portray flawless beauty. As you can see by clicking on the before and after for a close up that I smoothed out fine lines and wrinkles, minimized bags under the eyes and removed blotchy skin and freckles.

Beauty Retouching

Here are some beauty retouching shots I have done while working full time at Rubberball and while freelancing for them as well. This first shot has been retouched in a few ways. First a general smoothing of the skin and I also transformed her chin and nose to be smaller. Please click on the pictures if you want to see a close up.

This picture I lightened and played with the contrast, as well as smoothing out her skin and minimizing the bags under her eyes and wrinkles. When I retouch beauty shots I take the retouching a step further than lifestyle or even some editorial shots. Because it represents the 'ideal' beauty the skin has to be flawless, but still maintain a realistic texture. Please click on the picture to see a close up.

These pictures give a small representation of the type of retouching I do on full body models. The second picture is a close up of the face. If you click on the wide shot you can notice that I minimized her thighs and back, as well as slightly shaping her arms to appear more pleasing. I also touched up all the imperfections and flaws on the skin and minimizing the pinching of the skin on her stomach.

This is a shot from the same model that is closer up allowing you to see more the retouching detail. Please click on the picture to zoom in.

High Fashion Hair Shots

Here are some shots that I did the post-production and retouching work. It was a good challenge to do high end beauty retouching. Since the focus of the images was the hair, It was my job to manipulate and remove distracting details and ultimately create the 'ideal' and 'flawless' woman.

The main work I did on these consisted of smoothing out the skin of imperfections, taking away bags and wrinkles, cleaning up flyaway hairs, transforming the bodies and faces slightly, and adding contrast and color to the eyes.
